Five easy tips to slay your makeup all day

So this is to the aspiring slay queens and also the slay queens out there. So do you ever give yourself that stunning make-up look and you are like all out to slay all day but then… oops! Two hours later, you are looking a mess. Your foundation is literally dripping, eyebrows are smudged, and you are looking so dreadful. Yeah, this is basically a nightmare for every woman out there and, trust me this nightmare could be turned into a beautiful dream with the tips below.

1. APPLY AN OIL FREE MOISTURISER:

Before applying your makeup, it is advisable to apply a moisturizer. The major reason your foundation smears after some time is due to an excess production of oil on your face. Wearing a moisturizer, preferably oil-free, tricks your skin into believing it has enough oil when it actually has none; thereby making your foundation last longer.

2. USE A MATTIFYING PRIMER OR A POWDER:

A mattifying primer helps to control oil production which is a major reason why your makeup ends up looking like a hot mess. However, mattifying primers are well on the pricey side as they could range from 6,000 to 25,000 naira.

A good alternative would be to apply some powder all over your face after your moisturizer, this helps to control oil production and will help your make up slay all day.

3. USE A DAMP BEAUTY BLENDER TO SET YOUR FOUNDATION WITH A POWDER:

I honestly don’t know what it is that makes this work so well. But in my years of applying makeup, especially for my oily skin, I found out that my makeup lasts so much longer when I do this. It’s basically just getting a damp beauty sponge or wedge and applying a powder on top of your foundation and you’re good to go.

4. AN EYESHADOW PRIMER TO MAKE YOUR EYESHADOW POP

A lot of people underestimate the power of an eyeshadow primer. Not only does it help your eyeshadow last long. It also makes the colors a lot brighter and intensifies the look. An alternative to an eyeshadow primer would be a concealer set with a powder; it does just the same job as a primer and won’t make you bring out your purse

5. FINISH WITH A SETTING SPRAY

Setting sprays are the final stop to long-lasting makeup. They usually contain minerals that help your make up sink into your primer, and make your makeup look so bomb. They give that flawless long-lasting finish and are a must have for all our slay queens.
